So,I need to rant and what better place than OT to do so?I got Fu**ed over by my work.Ive been working for a ford dealership for a few years and loved what I did.I never called in,was late ONCE ( I called my boss to let him know I was held up by a train)but I would say I was a great employee.Anyway,about 9 months ago,we had a new guy start as a lube tech.He seemed like he was a good worker for about a week,then he started screwing around,texting his girlfriend all day and dragging his ass(he takes around 1hr to do an oil change)and just sits on his little stool and eats bag after bag of chips and drinks a 6 pk of pop a day.I figure whatever,none of my buisness right?Well one day,he(his names robert)is bitc*ing about how much he makes and how this job does not pay enough for what he does.Well,I overhear him say how much he makes and its what I was being paid.When I started,I also started as lube guy,we all do.But I went through scholl (UTI) and ford fact and have a few ASE certs.This kid worked for firestone for 3 yrs,thats it.So,I went to talk to my boss about this.I went into his office and asked him why he was making as much as I was and he flat out told me looking me in the eyes "robert is just blowing smoke up your ass,he makes nowhere near that" Okay,maybe he was lying,whatever.So the next week,robert leaves his checkstub on his toolbox,as I walked by,I looked and sure as hell,he was not lying,he is right at my pay scale.So im pi**ed off,mostly because my boss lied to me right to my face.So I deal with it and am just thankful to have a job.Me and my wife were planning a big wedding,we had everthing set up,we were goint to get married on march 1 2009,had all of the money set aside but,her job has been slow so we decided to just get hitched at the court house and save the money insted of blowing all this money on a wedding.So,I ask my boss if I can have oct 31 off at the begging of oct,I actually only need a half day off.I was just going to leave at lunch to get hitched and that was it.He says,sure but you have to work the next day(which was a sat,I was not on the sceudule that day,but okay,I dont have a choice.So no drunken wedding sex,just standing in front of a judge,I felt like I was going to prison or something.Well last month,I see robert has 2 weeks off in a row,Im like WTF?He has not been here for a year,why all the vac time?I asked him why ohh,im getting married.Now he gets off work at least a week a month.Sounds fishy huh?So one day,im on the tool truck and hes buying tools and he shows me his tool bill,bitching how he owes 6,000. seen his adress and it looked really familer,ehh,maybe just a customers car I worked on lived on the same street.The next day,my prick bosses mom comes in to have an oil change done,and I walk over to robert to look at the history of the vehicle and let him know some things to check over.Well,I happen to glance at the name and adrress,and guess what?Robert and my bosses mom have the same address.hmmmm.So me and a few techs,do some more reasearch and find out its my bosses nephew,and hes been hiding it for 9 months.Good stuff!So we all figured out why he had all this favoritism finally.Well,im very PO'd now.I go to talk to the owner,and explain everything and he seemd pretty ticked and said he woild talk to my boss.Well,my boss was "sick"for 3 days in a row and they never got to have a meething.But,word got to my boss that I went and tallked above him.So that friday,he calls me in his office and tells me to sit down.His first words out of his mouth were"you have something you want to fu**ing say?And I replied,I have ALOT to say,and we were basiclly in a screaming match for 20 min.So,Im on vacation for the next week,which I figure things will blow over and go back to work monday,there may be some tension but whatever,I will deal with it.Now I knew he would try to find a reason for firing me,because he was pi**ed off for ratting him out.So today,he calls me and asks me If I went to mcdonalds last week while he was sick.I told him yeah,there was no work and I was gone for 5min.Now,this is a thing everyone does in the shop.Its funny because techs will take "test drives"and go pay bills,hell one even got caught with a customers truck shopping for groceries.Everone goes across the street to get coffee and food all day long,so being no differant than any other day,I went came back and gave all the techs there food they had asked me to get them.Well,I guess that was wrong so that was the lame ass excuse he gave me:I went to mcdonalds on company time,even though,he goes to get doughnets,bagels,or whtaever all the time.I know I was not fired for that,it because he was pissed for going above him because I and all the other techs were getting sick of his nephew not doing anything while we have to bust our balls to make money while he rides the gravy train all day.So,what a bunch of BS.Im 30,have all kinds of bills and out of a job because I was hungry.Oh yeah,his nephew,whom I know hate denied ever knowing my boss.He told everyone in the shop that he does not know him and has never met him.I HATE LIARS!He is full of win because of the following reasons also:
He drives a riced out civic
He is fat and lazy
He is 26 and still a virgin,even though him and his girlfriend haver been together for 5 yrs?
He ripps on fords and says how much mustangs suck,blah,blah,blah.
He still has a job.
Well sorry for the rant but the only other living thing here right now is my cat(who is in heat and wont stop sticking her ass in the air,and meowing)and I need to get it off my chest.Anyway,it sucks being unemployed.

Your employer may not contest it. If he does, you will both get the chance to plead your case in court. Worth a shot. You would have needed to be fired for just cause, and taking 5 minutes break to eat would probably not convince any case worker you were in the wrong. The high rate of new claims may also be in your favor if they just don't have the time or manpower to contest.
No,Im no porter,Ive been a tech for over 3 yrs for ford and worked in a few small shops since I was 20,I just turned 30.Ive been in your shoes,working on the lube rack sux.I would like to file a complaint but,Im just going to hopefully find something quick.That place is so damn crooked anyway,they rip off customers nonstop,when we are slow,they write up warranty work on cars thats not needed,oh and did I mention that our sales dept got raided 5 months ago for salesman selling drugs?Hell one of our porters used to roll joints in customes cars and get high in the wash bay.He actually dropped a dimebag right in the service isle,my boss fouund it and did not say anything and laughed about it.He "flushed"it down the toilet....Right.That place is full of so much BS,I think this may be a blessing in disguise.All the other techs I dont think want to get involved,they dont want to lose there jobs and most are ass kissers anyway.Its like a damn high school there.
