when i had my automatic, i was going like 10mph, i pressed in the button to go from D to N and went a lil to far XD, yeah went into reverse (yeah some nice gear scratching from that) an than went into park....all while moving at 10mph. that was the last time i decided to go into neutral while driving.

no a short throw has spings that help to align the shifter making missed shifts less a problem

Whenever I've had a 5-spd/4-spd, I've never missed a shift..

In fact, it's natural for the shifter to coast into the direct of where you're trying to go.. You don't need to jimmy-jam the thing to get it into gear..

MF44: That sounds absolutely terrible.. There's supposed to be a safety catch that stops the shifter from going into Reverse from Neutral though, and I believe from R- Park..

My MGW took some work when I first got it to get it into 5th or reverse. After about 2 weeks though it got broken in and the shifts became a cake-walk.
