I have nittos 555r's and they only hook well if you heat them up A LOT! If you are looking for a street/strip tire, a DR that I would recommend would be the MT drag radial for sure.

it helps to get a wide size, also, and to run the proper PSI. you gotta be able to launch the car properly, like think a quick clutch slip from a higher rpm. the timer(s) don't start until you leave the 12 inch rollout beams.
AR was talking about nitto's....includes more than the 555, dip****.
If this thread is about street DD tires, and he has 555's...Then why would he talk about 555R's in a topic where track traction HAS THE VALUE OF ABSOLUTE DICK?
I DD 555R's and a buddy of mine DD's KDW drag radials. They both do great. The cool thing about the KDW's is that you can buy a regular street front and DR rear and the tread pattern matches.
