i only read like a page and half of this thread, got a good little chuckle out of it. i've a set of the 555s on my car and i loved them. i have a set of kdw nts on my car right now, and i hate them. they're absolute crap. they're loud, the chop out like crazy (all bfg's do) and they don't last for ****.
the nittos will last longer, stay quieter, and ride better, all for less money.
btw, FWIW, i've mounted and balanced probably 200 sets of each of the tires, and the nittos call for less weight 95% of the time.

the tread patter on them is full of a bunch of giant blocks, the road noise comes from when the tread blocks slap the concrete over and over again.
they chop, where instead of the tread being perfectly flat and round, like it's supposed to be, it gets worn unevenly, if you run your hand across a tire thats chopped out, you'll feel how the tread is uneven (higher in some spots, lower in others). this creates vibration and even more road noise. it's a common occurrence in lifted trucks with big tires. also, over inflation will cause this type of wear. it happens so often with the kdw's just cuz of how big the tread blocks are.

AR was talking about nitto's....includes more than the 555, dip****.
sorry, maybe i should have been a little more clear. i was talking about the street tires, not the 555r's.
considering he said they would go on his daily driver, i wasnt really taking the DR's into consideration... although at the same time, a lot of people want good street tires that can still perform at the track.

I DD 555R's and a buddy of mine DD's KDW drag radials. They both do great. The cool thing about the KDW's is that you can buy a regular street front and DR rear and the tread pattern matches.
I thought we were sooo much more than buddies?? LMAO!!!!J/K
yes there is some road noise that comes with the KDW's. but if you have a mild exhaust, you wont hear it. I have never ran the nittos so i cant comment on them, but the KDW's are a nice tire and perform well. tread wear is good too... except for the DR...
