Soooooo.....Cracked bumpers, brake weights, broken battery cables, and now broken output shafts?

The new Camaro is living up to it's mullet roots!

I would say the issues the camaro is having is much worse than the s197.. I guess thats what you get when you design a vehicle from the ground up..

Ford Quality > Chevy Quality for quite sometime now according to JD powers and consumer reports..

Oh... and what liberal/communist bastard are you talking about?

I hope you are not referring to me. If you are....THAT would be retarded.
Since when does not being a party fanboy make someone a liberal or a communist?

That's almost as retarded as saying a bad batch of tranny boxes is proof positive a president sucks.
Apparently I'm a fanboi now because I realize that 99% of a political parties philosophies are completely illogical,

oh, and when you start advocating socialist heathcare, that makes you a liberal communist bastard, duh, I thought that was a no brainer

2000AZ: No offense man, but you still missed the boat on this one.. The article clearly states that it's the same tranny used in 2 other Hi-Po models, from 2 different companies, yet it is believed it's probably just a bad batch of trannies..

I don't know how the f-ck politics got brought into this in the first place (dammit fastback!!) It should be understood that a brand new model is going to have it's growing pains, regardless of who's in charge..

Hey, paying for education is one thing, that I'm fine with.

Paying for healthcare, uh uh, no way.

One is helping better the race, the other is keeping the unfit alive. There's a difference

You think I was commenting solely on the basis of this article?

First of all, bad batch of transmissions? So the fact that no other model has had this problem yet is just what?

the only problem that the GT500's had (that I recall) is a problem with the hydraulic clutch.

Second of all, they spent 5 years designing/producing this car didn't they?, plenty of time to get the "kinks" or "growing pains" worked out, as you call it.

They could do what almost every other automaker does before it releases it's car, test the car to it's limit's, have a Q/A department, or anything else.

They're almost as bad as Tucson weathermen (the only people on the face of the planet who could be wrong day after day for two months, and still keep their job "ooo, it's going to be sunny till thursday" and yet somehow it pours like cats and dogs monday, tuesday, weds, but it's sunny on thurs) (yes that is way off topic, but IDGARA)

as I said, their whole problem is too much money spent in advertising vs. making a better damn car, 90% of used car salesmen can tell you that GM stuff is junk the majority of the time.

that would support the idea that this is all because of a bad batch of transmissions.

I am a huge fan of Ford, but wouldn't you think that it's possible, that since the 3 cars are different models, that some modification must've been done to both the input/output shaft, therefore, possibly making the first few batches inconsistent??

And the S197 has been around a while longer, (started testing them back in 2003, it's now 2009, and the GT500 came out in 2008, making a 5 year time to test the entire model platform)..

I won't argue that GMs quality has suffered over the last decade and a half, as that's part of the reason I am such a huge fan of Ford, as the domestic car of choice.. I just felt this article was fairly objective, even though it seems it is apart of a fanboi sect..

Including the Govt. in this problem is just ridiculous though, as you even mentioned yourself, that GM's been testing this pig for 5 years.. That means that when GM was still wallowing in sh-tty sales, during the Bush Admin., they came up with the car, not AFTER Obama and his Cronies came in and started taking over Commerce..

That's where the problem exists: translation..
