Well I have never had to do this before, but it looks like I have my first ever seller who has ripped me off.
I won an auction on July 9th, and paid via paypal. Payment was accepted. I haven't heard from the seller since. The seller has a good feedback (99.7%) and mine is 100%. It has now been 16 days. No emails concerning items shipped, tracking info, etc....I have emailed back asking about said items, and have heard nothing.
How long would it be considered appropriate before filing a dispute? It is only around fifty bucks, but I really wanted these parts for my car, dammit!

I'd file asap. 16 days is more than enough. He should have e-mailed you the day you bought the item, or at least the day after. I think there's a requirement through paypal claims as to how long though. If you paid with the "Buy it Now" feature, your most likely covered through paypal. I've had to do this once. It takes around a month or so to get resolved, but it's worth it. Just hope he has that much in his account to cover the money. My problem was much more than $50, but it was resolved fairly quickly considering the amount.
yeah if you wait too long you wont be able to leave feedback for the transaction.
ive only had to file 2 disputes one for AMP performance. i won an air bag for my 91 i ended up winning the auction for 5$ and normally the bag sold for about 75+ online well it. the bag in the ad was perfect looking, i got the bag in looked like they had driven over top of it with a truck(maybe they were pissed because i got a good bag for 5$??) welll i finally got a new bag to replace the old one took forever but 5$ FTW :P
second dispute i had to file was over a tail light for my moms 99 Subie Wagon, the pic in the ad was for a wagon light i won and got the light in, they sent one for a sedan. file a dispute paypal tells me to pay to send the light back to get a refund of the purchase price, so basically i could pay to send the light back and get a refund and end up recovering about 1.50. so i just kept the light and ill ebay it later one :P

I sent a second email to the seller today. If I do not hear from him by Monday, I am going to file a dispute. Like I said it was only 50 bucks (for already painted silver bezels and stuff for my New Edge) but I really wanted em! I suck with spray paint, so this was a good option.
mail me your parts, ill paint them send them back for 50$ lol

I would file Monday for sure, did you keep your correspondence w/ him? That helps pay pal out when they see the seller isn't responding to you. I had to do it once and pay pal is very good at protecting the buyer, at least in my case. Good luck and it is your $50 if he cant cough up your parts and if he does I hope they ain't ****ty work.

I have the emails that I sent, one through Ebay, and one through yahoo to the email that was used for the paypal transaction.
If I do not get the parts, I will try to hit up some of the local pick n pulls for the bezels. (The pick n pulls here charge WAY too much, and I want to keep a spare non-painted set)
He cant touch your $ until you leave feedback anyway.. and when you file a dispute he cant touch any of his $ (in the acct). I usually wait a week of no response to file. 2 weeks if they say 'they sent it' and i havent seen it.
I would file tonight honestly bec once you file the seller has 48 hours to respond, if he doesnt it takes like 2 weeks for paypal to figure things out.
