If I didn't have the fastback, I'd have a 1st generation Cougar. With the hideaways, the sequential taillights, leather interior and a V8, what's not to love?

Had a 67 Cougar and loved it. Wouldn't mind getting another one. I say go for it if it's not a rust bucket.
