I've had a real attachment to riding out 1st gear really lightly around corners, then just RIPPING the hell out of 2nd and sliding the ass out around the rest of the turn.

Yeah, I'm guilty of that too. My oldest daughter loves it, my youngest (who thinks a lot like her mom) hates it.
I'll drop into d1 or d2 depending on my entry speed, get halfway through the corner then either stomp on the gas at the apex or gently turn a bit more inward for a nice semi sideways finish. I've gotten pretty good in doing that with an auto now
Just cruise most of the time, but I do get on it at on ramps etc. Like driving it around the corners too. It usually sees over 6,000rpm at least once a day.

I am sure it has just about everything to do with age, young & dumb and just doing 80 wherever you go, vs the old folks that have been there and done that and now just go out for a nice cruise around town, not really looking for trouble until one of the young guns pulls up next to them and wants to go.

I drive my car like I stole it hehe. Used to do tons of donuts but tires are getting to worn lol. If im first at a light and I dont see a cop I will for sure launch and wot till like 3rd. Basically If I have a chance to wot I will. I cant help it

yeah the way i see it i drive my camaro like its supposed to be driven. hard, fast, and very loud. i like to get a little sideways, i love to rev match down shift at red lights, i love to burn a little rubber from a dig, and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE to blast people with my loud exhaust when they are talking on their phones while driving. i made this one lady in an SUV straight up drop her cell phone and damn near sh!t her knickers, it was classic.
