Lawn care / maintenance. A riding mower, blower, weed whacker and your in business.

Start with a couple accounts, ie. mom & pop convenience stores, Dr's offices etc and take it from there. My neighbor started his own lawn business at 40 years old a couple years back and now he is in charge of landscaping many of the Dardin (sp?) resturants (Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc) in Florida.

When I asked him how business was the other day he answered, "What recession? I need more help."

yeah true, i live in VA, kinda spread out.. for lack of better words... so tough to go door to door for anything. have thought about selling cars.. decent mechanics around me that would do alot of work to bring some back to life for a sale or two. but point being.. what am i going to college for. i have the Gi bill and the drive to go to school.. just don't want to go for nothing and its not 100% covered, so alot of out of pocket still to come.

im still in college so this post probably wont be weighed too much into the thread

but im a finance major

and the reason why is i love calculated risk (thats actually why i like poker). i also am real good with numbers for some reason

i would not necessarily look at what job you want to do but rather what you enjoy doing in your personal time (restated- for me its poker and things involving working with numbers), and try to find a career that will provide a good mix with a decent salary. doesnt matter if you make 80Gs if you hate every minute of it
