Question I have no idea what to do with my life

I'm 23yrs old, in and out of college, and i just don't have a clue what to major in and go for a career. I just got out of the army a couple years ago and hated every second of that so the military life is out. I'm bouncing back and forth from everything to everything. People ask me.. well what do you like to do? I don't know what i'd like to do with work, i haven't been exposed to alot. How did you guys decide what to do with your life? I'm rolling around the idea of a pilot, but thats a rough life. sheesh.. any cool ideas to get me going? any advice welcome. i'd like to get started on a path sometime soon.

Oh, however, i'm not going to college to be broke, the salary of the occupation will play a HUGE part in the decisions. I'm not looking to make anything under 70/$80,000 a year, and not in 30 years... if that helps narrow the ideas down. I don't figure going to school for 4yrs and spending 50/60k on school to make $40,000 is pointless, i'm almost makin that now and i hate my job.

Tell you what I did when I was scratching my ass and blinking after I got out of the Army, I talked to family friends who had a small businesses, ie. remodeling, well drilling, land clearing, etc. and offered to work free for them for a week or so just to see if it was something I might want to pursue.

I didn't find my career that way but I did learn a lot about people and job skills and even years later I was able to parlay a couple of those experiences into side gigs.
