yeah, some movements are like WOAH while others don't flow as smoothly. sports games are tits, but some TV shows/movies are a little ****ed up.
it seems like in some ACTION movies where .....*sigh*....the camera man moves way too ****ing much as it is with regular 60hz, the 120hz amplifies it a little bit more, but YOU KNOW WHAT?
Some brands do their 120/240 differently too. I think that LG does their 240hz by doubling the created frame, while Samsung and Sony uses the first created frame and the following real frame to create a second created frame. This takes more processing, which in turn costs more money, which is why the Sony/Samsung 240hz TVS are so much more expensive than the LG 240hz.
I'm in love with a Samsung 55" 8000 series, what do you think?

Samsung’s newest HDTVs boasts better performance while going greener. That’s what the LED iDTVs are all about.
Instead of the traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL), these new HDTVs are lit mainly by LEDs. Not only do LEDs consume less power, but they also produce darker blacks, and they use up less space. Samsung was able to cut down the size of these TVs to only 29.9mm, which is just a little over an inch. Now, you’ll be able to redefine the “slim” compared to when you saw the first flat-screen TVs.
The new LED iDTVs come in 3 different series– 6000, 7000, and 8000 series, ranging a variety of sizes. The 8000 series offer a blazing-fast 200Hz Motion Plus technology, while the 6000 and 7000 series offer a still-good 100Hz Motion Plus technology. This ensures that you’ll be able to catch every moment of the fast-action pictures in sports.

A good friend of mine has one of the 8000 series, and it looks SWEET. I cannot see the difference between 120 and 240hz, nor do I know anybody who can. If money is an issue, I would say save the whatever the price between the two is, and go 120hz.
That second article you quoted is for European TVs. The standard over there is 50hz, and the new deal is 100/200hz.
I have no idea why US standard and European standard is different. I remember reading somewhere that it had to do with when generators would fly apart, and that in the US it had something to do with the electric chair. I would take both of those answers with a huge grain of salt.
Ya my family has a lg 40 inch 120 hz 1080p, My friends say it looks weird when its on a hd channel or especially on blue ray. I thought that at first now im used too it.
