I learned how to eat ramen noodles the right way when I went to jail in oregon
when canteen comes around you gotta get the little snack pack bags of crunchy cheetohs and chicken ramen.... eat about a 1/4 of the cheetohs then break up the ramen and throw the noodles and spices on top of the chhetohs in the bag.... put a decent amount of boiling water in the bag (about 1/4-1/2 way) fold the bag up then shake the crap out of it.... the cheetohs melt in with the ramen and spices while the water gets soaked up by the cheetohs
presto... you have the best cheese soup you have ever freaking tasted

lol, in jail you aren't locked down in your jail cell... only if there was a fight or some stupid sh!t
there is a big community room, you have a station where you can turn on a faucet and it's instant boiling water.... and there are TV's that are guard controlled where you can request a station and they change it to whatever you want, people play chess, workout... whatever
from my experience jail is just a big day care center... and the people I talked to in jail wished they were in prison because according to them it's "easier time"... which kind of makes me wonder about our penal system
yeah i've had a friend show me the cheetoh thing. just didnt make it in the actual bag. but yeah...he's been to jail/prison a few times, colorful character. he's a used car salesman now btw.

Ther discovery channel has me believing that jails and prisons are 23 hour a day lock down with one hour for walking/basketball/working out.
discovery channel only covers the gang prisons out on the west coast and down through the south, those mofo's don't screw around.... when I was locked up in Oregon it was just a bunch of white guys with no teeth because they spent their whole life tweaking, so everyone was pretty chill and seemed to just huddle around MTV2 all day XD
every jail/prion has a category.... from what I heard the lower category prisons are pretty easy time
