I want to get an AR-15 though, I'm not really a fan of the stigma that all AK's have.
EDIT: That's the problem, literally, I haven't heard anything at all about Armalites.
Uhhh, I guess it's kinda like Colt with the 1911, reliable and accurate but of course there will be the "competiton" models which also result in more $$$.
Dont be dumb, if they invented it then it must be good, other companies just "refined it/made it cheaper".

www.classicarms.us. They have new 16" A2 H-Bar 4 position Bushmasters for $850. Absolutely nothing wrong with that Sabre either. Just change the stock if you want a telescoping buttstock.
I built my own off a DPMS lower for $600. Its all the same parts, all mil spec, all interchangeable. Don't get caught up in the name of the brand.

What's up Stone?
I'd want to get a brand name one so I could fall back on the warranty if need be. Would I have to replace the whole lower if I want to add a collapsible stock?
I want an AR-15 with a 1x7 twist, but, those seem to all be $200 more expensive.
Blah!

I understand that. It shouldn't ever give you any trouble though. ARs are tough guns.
You don't have to replace the lower, it screws right out. Its very easy and can be done in 15-20 minutes. I went with a 1x9 twist, had no idea the 1x7 was so expensive.

My dad has one, but in pistol form. I don't like it cuz it jams all the time. Is this a normal thing, or is it fixable?
mine has never jammed

Are there any major differences between the M4A3 and M4A4?
Not really man. They are both flat top uppers with detachable carry handles. Just depends what suits you. I kept mine simple and stuck with the A2, although that limits me as far as certain optics go. ARs are completely interchangeable though, so don't feel like you're ever stuck with any certain set up.
