Default Gun question: Entry level Carbine?

Looking at getting an AR-15 in the next couple months, and I'm kind of lost on which brands are decent for at least entry level.

Some people plug brands like DPMS Panther, Sabre, Armalite, etc. and when I asked the same question on a rifle forum, half the members screamed at me to get a: Colt, LMT, Daniel Defense, etc. which is way, way more than I wanted to spend.

What would a good Carbine be for say $800-900?

Looking online, I can find assorted Armalites, Sabres, DMPS Panthers, and Bushmaster for $735-820 and some other brands like Charles Daly, Colt, S&W for $900-1600+.

Decent prices: budsgunshop.com
Sabre, comes with 2x30 round clips, no handle, bag, cleaning kit, a HAT: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...s_id/411536144

Bushmaster: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/46149

Armalite: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/49448

Good prices on DPMS: http://www.rguns.net/rifles/rifles-s...lete-556.shtml

Chalres Daly: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/52804

I'll mostly be using it for plinking and for taking out those liberal bags that flitter close enough to me.. :P

rock rivers looks like a good bang for the buck, personally I will go for that doublestar, im not gonna be putting thousands of rounds a year thru it, it might see around 100/year if that.
