here are some more reviews of the system i recommended:

http://reviews.cnet.com/pc-speakers/...-31115626.html

note they call it " Type of speaker: PC multimedia home theater speaker system "

http://reviews.digitaltrends.com/rev...-z-5500-review

"Amazingly, considering these suckers are readily available and have been for some time now, we still can’t find a better option for discerning audiophiles." "and the home theater enthusiast-ready Z-5500. " and the cons 'Lacks TrueHD and HDMI passthrough '

anyway.. if no HDMI is a deal breaker for you then these wont work.. but for others looking for on the cheap side excellent sounding speakers.. try to listen to a demo.. you'll be sold.

Looks like a good all-around setup. Really good price too when it includes shipping. I would go with it if I was in the market.

so if you buy bulk from new egg there is no return for the item. So if the it shows up and blows up in a week... is there still a factory warranty of sorts?

cuz new egg offers a 1 year warranty for $40 but I'm not sure if it's worth it... especially if there is a factory warranty on top of it.

You will be happy. If you need help wiring, just post. If you are a clean wiring guy like me, go get a roll of velcro to keep things neat. It is easier to add/remove with the velcro than with Zip ties.
