why didn't you put jack stands on the frame then set a jack under the lower control arm and barely get some load on the spring with the jack, that way when you got the bolt you could just ease the jack down slowly decompressing the spring.... would have provided the same lift but on a sturdier object and would also fix your loaded spring threat
as far as I know the front macpherson style springs need to be taken out as an entire unit.... compressed with spring compressors away from the car on a seperate workbench
EDIT: did some googling and I never knew the new edges didn't have "true" macpherson suspension up front, that's kind of confusing.... I'm used to replacing springs on a whole macpherson unit, it's a crap ton easier

iknow how picking up a body part is back when i got bit by the dog i had to pick up part of my face and carry it to the hospital but you have to post pics or it didnt happen

He was an itiod. They had two more surgerys that were higher on the priority list like a stomach rupture or something I forgot exactly what it was but i was intestine related. They had an argument over prepping an E.R. room for me or something and they were going to make me wait till those surgeries were done. That's from what i gather. Probably way more in detail. That hospital is so f**ked up I should just get a lawsuit going and buy an ls1, lol.
