well done my buddy had a 91 240 that was turbo'd and had some engine in it from jap idk anything about them but i do like them
prolly the SR20. Its a very common and direct bolt in to the 240 chassis as it is the engine that it came with in japan. Good Top end power. Its an aluminum block/head combo that make it a good light weight engine.
I have the USDM KA24 which is a 2.4 liter. When doing the block work, I had the cylinders bored out the 89.5 rather then then the standard 89. The head is aluminum but the block is cast iron. The KA has a ton of torque, as it is a truck engine. Nissan of USA decided to slam it into the 240 as well. Hence the name of the car, 240sx..2.4 liter...get it? And in japan the car is called a 200..2.0 liter.
I just ordered a fuel pressure regulator as the final piece to the engine. I need one cause I have a new fuel system on the engine. The engine typcally has side mounted fuel injectors. However not only did i upgrade the injectors to 50lbs, i made the system top mounted and got a new fuel rail. LSD has been installed as well,
The font end of the car is a front end directly from Japan. Here in the states they discontinued the 240sx in 1998 with the s14 chassis. (Mine is an 1989 s13 chassis). Japan continued the Silvia though 2003 with its swan song of cars, the S15. This car was never offered here in the states, much like their prized Skylines of R32, r33 and r34.
The nissan s15 was Nissans ultimate RWD sports coupe. My favorite Jap car. Since it is the younger, newer brother of my car, i had the front end of an s15 shipped here and fit it to my car. The previous owner just had the headlights and ****ty ebay knock offs, I got the real deal and put it on right. So the front end on my car is of the same family if cars, Its as if you took a 2003 'Stang and put the 2010 front end on it.
Its now october and driving this car in the winter is a no no. A 2 way diff with 400 horses on a car that only weighs 2600 lbs in the snow....you get ny point :P At least Ill enjoy it a little bit before the snow comes in.
Thanks for looking
