i have run out of room in my tool box at work and need something bigger. i dont feel like paying an arm and a leg for a new or used brand name like snap on, matco, mac, or cornwell not to mention i would never be approved by them financially to be able to buy one. when i worked for lincoln mercury one of the techs had a US General box and from what i remember it was decent quality better than crapsman anyway. do any of you guys out there have a US General box or know someone that does? i was looking at this bad larry. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=67428
in time id would also get the top cabinet too http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=67427

my ex-gfs cousins both had one. they have owned them all like craftsman and snap on and say that the us general box works just as well with a better price tag because it is not a big name

I still don't understand how any tool box can be that expensive... its just some drawers on wheels, doesn't justify 3000 for those IMO, you still have to fill it with tools.
its more than just draws on wheels. a lot of them are very thick metal to keep people from breaking into them. basically think of them as a safe. craftsman boxes are extremely cheap and you can open any of them with a crowbar and a hammer. the mac box i had was very nice and you would never be able to get into it with out the keys or some kind of heavy duty cutters, metal thicker than most car panels.

I would drive into the dang thing with a forklift.
my friend was driving into the bay and as he was pulling in he blew a brake line and hit his craftsman box at like 5mph if that and the box folded up on itself it was prettt funny

That would suck. I just use craftsman because I am cheap and even though my dad only owns mac and snap on, I could never justify that type of cake on a tool chest. So, if US general is better than Craftsman, then go for it.

I have a Matco box. After all is said and done I think I spent a hair over $6500, and I couldn't be happier with it.
You can argue it all you want, but there is a difference between a $2000 box and a $5000 box. But that's if you're talking about needed it prefessionally for use everyday. No reason to have a 6 or $7k tool box for your house.
