tardigrades (water bears) can live through damn near anything... they go into a cyst stage and can survive like that for at least 5 years. so it wouldnt surprise me if they could survive in space for a while. it kinda defeats the purpose since they are sending them in sealed containers though. all they are going to experience is the pressure.
