I think Joe Torre gave up that game... or at least gave up on throwing out a good starter (or at least a guy who has pitched within the last 6 weeks) for a matchup against cliff lee so he could save the starters for a different game. but, ehhhh, that's what happens when your team is too stupid to go out and get somebody better than garland. I still have no clue how we beat the cardinals with randy wolf as our game 1 starter.
i like how they pushed Padilla up to game 2, so he wouldnt have to pitch here, for the simple reason that "he probably wont be able to handle the pressure"
