you're buying a BEATER. Get a CRX HF, or a Geo. As long as the heat works and the car drives good, who cares? If you're so worried about it, just keep driving the Camaro.. it's really not that bad in the winter.
I had a CRX HF too. I got low 50's on MPG. The motor in the HF was an 8 valve so it got insane mileage. It only had 72hp though...well....until I swapped it out.

lol, most Civics with a swap will trap damn close to what a new edge traps, and at a fraction of the cost.

What about a VW GTI?

I am assuming yours was a manual as well? I just bought an 86 1500 S, and it gets OK gas mileage.. about 32MPG. lots better than my other car, but still kind of crap...
but then again, I only paid $800 for it, so..

Yes. I think all HF's are manual. Another thing that makes the HF so efficient is the gears are soooo tall. I could do like 45 in first, though it took a really long time to get there. After I swapped in a JDM ZC and an SI transmission I could still touch 40 mpg on the interstate and mid 30's mpg around town.
