You're kidding right? Unless you have a new Cobra, I wouldn't call BMWs pansy rides. They can do more with a V6, than ford can do with a V8. And don't tell me about the new Cobra... it's supercharged... supercharge/intercool an M5 and see who gets their ass handed to them. Mustangs have been nothing but trouble for me.... I love my Bimmer though.

Yes, but is an M5 really worth the money? I sure as hell dont have $50,000 to spend. If I did, I wouldn't buy an M5. I'd be too afraid to park it anywhere. A door ding probably would cost $5000 to get removed. Give me a Cobra and the extra cash and an M5 won't stand a chance. Hell, for fifty grand give me a Lightning and I'll go buy an older GT and still run around that M5. I love German engineering too, but the prices aren't justifiable.
I like the M3, what year were they rated with 300 HP?
What are the prices on a decent used M3.The M5 do haul a$$,but I have to agree with converted too much $$$.Dollar per horsepower you just can't compete with American cars.Take the Z06 50 to 60 grand and it can hold its own against 90 to 200 thousand $ exotics.
i think the best mustang you could go with for 15000 would be getting a 96-98 mustang LX (they're cheaper), take 5000 to ebay and aget a 2003 cobra supercharged 4.6 and drop it under the hood for another 1000, then take the extra 3-4 grand and throw a 3" borla dual catback on it. and blow the rest on personal preference mods. an easy 400hp
The prices for a used M3 are very good. I've seen '95-'97s go for well under 20,000 all w/ decent milage. They make SCs for just about any BMW.... I could get well over 300 hp out of my little 2.8L w/ a SC and intercooler. Oh, and the money isn't too bad. I've seen fully mod'd bimmers going for 10,000 to 15,000.... all w/ decent milage. If you get one though, get ready to pay $60 for an oil change... and you'll probably have to pick the filter up from the dealership I agree, new bimmers cost way too much. I was just referring to them being called German pansy rides. You gotta love a company that can build a heavy-ass boat of a car... packin a 12-cylinder that can get it from 0-60 pretty damn quick. (well over $100,000). Expensive? Yes. Pansy? Hell no!!!!
Nothin against American cars... I'm not trying to start a flame war. I'd kill for a ZO6...mmmmmm...lingenfelter.
Well, then if you are into the Bimmers so much, why deal with an M car? Just go get a run of the mill Bimmer and order a Dinan kit? Talk about ballsy!!! And still much cheaper.
