Hello, I have a question about what you all think I should do. Ok, I am looking for a new car (not necissarily new, used is ok also, but new to me) my budget is around 15,000 bucks. I was looking at stuff like Hyundai Elantras, Nissan Altimas, Honda Civics, VW Jettas, cars like those. I want a car that really accelerates fast, thats one of my top priorties, I like to race also like at bandemere. Which ever car I ended up getting I was going to put performance parts on it also like supercharger/turbocharger, new exaust, stuff like that to raise the horsepower and acceleration. After looking at those cars it seemed that if I buy a new car its going to be around a 2.0 liter engine, and around 135 horsepower. Then I started thinking of other things like getting a used 2000 - 2003 ford mustang, which are like 4.6 liter engines, it just seemed like for the same price I could get a way better car even though its just a little used. Then I started thinking about like what If I bought a 65 - 66 mustang for several grand, get a brand new engine like a mustang 4.6 liter engine and get an engine transplant for it, supercharge/turbocharge it, add a bunch of performance parts, it seems that if I did this I could get a way more of a baddass car for the same money than if I got something like a hyundia elantra. Also I wasn't sure but is it even possible to get a brand new engine and put it in a 65-66 mustang? And can I just take it to a place and pay people to do it? (how much would it cost for someone to replace the engine of a car btw that would be great to know) but after thinking of all these possible things it started to really confuse me. So, does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, or if you can direct me to some information also that would be great. Thanks a lot appreatiate it!

If you want fast acceleration, you're looking at the wrong kinds of rides. You want a RWD car, not a WWD car.
The stangs, F bodies and GN's are some of your best bang for bucks as far as performance parts goes, and you really won't kill your budget.
For the swap, you'd have to swap gauges, electrical harnesses, probably motor mounts, cooling systems (unless you can retro fit and not overheat), in short, quite a bit.
It is possibly to put a brand new engine in an old car, but dude, it's a decent amount of work. Some shops will do it, and I'm sure that custom shops will do it. Take it to a reputable place, cars are something you don't want half assed. The price depends on what they charge for labor, what you're dropping in, and how long it takes.
Annd DO NOT buy a hyundai. Those things....god damnit.....burn them to the ground.
