Warren v. District of Columbia[1] (444 A.2d. 1, D.C. Ct. of Ap. 1981) is a U.S. Court of Appeals case in which three rape victims sued the District of Columbia because of negligence on the part of the police. Two of three female roommates were upstairs when they heard men break in and attack the third. After repeated calls to the police over half an hour, the roommate's screams stopped, and they assumed the police had arrived. They went downstairs and were held captive, raped, robbed, beaten, and forced to commit sexual acts upon one another and to submit to the attackers' sexual demands for 14 hours. The police had lost track of the repeated calls for assistance. DC's highest court ruled that the police do not have a legal responsibility to provide personal protection to individuals, and absolved the police and the city of any liability.[2]

Hopefully he was just pissed about deployment....
If not then it makes you think twice about whose in the military..sorta scary.
again,
RIP soldiers and the best in recovery to those injured
rmodel, you can't be that retarded and serious. that doesn't mean they don't try to protect the citizenry, it means that the citizen's can't hold the cops responsible for crimes committed by other people. this is like when you claim that lawyers are secret operatives of the british royalty because you believe everything you read on the internet.
the case means that a cop can watch a crime ignore it and go about their day, yes they might be fired but your protection is 100% your responsibility.....

why on earth would they be fired? it's not their duty to protect people, as you claim. what exactly is their duty? "to serve and protect" means that they don't protect? it's simply that you can't sue the cops or any other group because of something some other asshole did to you.
a cop is a citizen same as you and I, the only difference is that they get paid to enforce the law as a job.... something that you and i can do, also we can arrest have warrants sworn out etc....

but thats just the thing laws to disarm are feel good laws they only disarms those who are law abiding....
“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
