This gives me great joy to hear of this before I leave..

I don't give a sh-t about the religious aspects of this.. Fellow Soldiers were killed over something fanatical.. It makes me f-cking angry, especially since he did it so cowardly by attacking unarmed people..

I hope he doesn't sleep the rest of his short, insignificant life, while mofos in Leavenworth beat and torture him the best way they know how..

The awful part of this is - its always the extremists of any faith, race, sex, etc, that leave us with the horrible impressions of even the moderates. Doesn't matter if you're Christian or Muslim; Black or White - act piss ignorant, shoot and kill folks over your beliefs, and you're single handedly helping to destroy credibility in the faith or beliefs you claim to love.

That being said, the part that makes me nervous is this is a 'war' that's entirely different than anything we've ever dealt with. IF he really did this because he's a radical, these type of folks are happy with just walking into a pizza parlor or a wedding reception with C4 strapped to them, pulling the trigger, and killing 30,40, 50 people - all civilians. WOmen, children, old people - Not soldier fighting soldier in battle.

I have to wonder - is this a point in history where fighting tactics change forever, such as during the revolutionary war when our colonists decided to fight guerrilla style and the Brits thought that was terrible unfair and cowardly?

Lots to think about now - lots of prayers and concerns for the families and all involved.

Wow my condolences to the families of the dead & wounded

Geezus how the hell did the shooter survive the event? Now he's gonna get dragged through months/years of expensive legal & medical analysis, and you just watch I'll bet he eventually gets declared mentally incompetent during the day of the shooting and "can't be held responsible for his actions" Then he'll get sent to a padded cell "care facility" where taxpayer money will keep him clothed & fed for the rest of his life.. Yuck

He was a soldier right?
The military isn't that nice to people. He'll either get life in military prison, or a needle.

^ knows from experience.
Question, if this was a terror event, since it is being reported that he yelled "Allah Akbar!" before pulling the trigger, does him surviving mess up the fact that he will no longer be considered a martyr? I would think you would have to die during your attack in order to get the benefits, but will it matter if he survives? I would think he wouldn't, which would be the ultimate kick in the nuts.

Well, 43 innocent people got caught up in this event (13 + 30),, so only about 70% of HIS gunshot victims survived...
