You know, that's exactly what he and I talked about yesterday. After he put Nate to bed I asked him why he wanted to go back to church all of a sudden and he pretty much said because he wants the kids raised in church. It then lead into us talking about why I don't want to go and what my beliefes are. He said he wasn't very happy about it but he still loves me. I also told him how I really don't want it to change him, because I don't want us growing apart and becoming someone that I didn't marry. We also agreed that he should probably go Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings and only every now and then should he go Sunday nights. So I guess we pretty much have it figured out.

And about Nate, I will not make him do anything he does not want to do. I also won't let them baptize him unless that's what he chose to do. So not until he's older.

Glad you got it figured out.

See, the good thing about him going Sunday morning is you can sleep in while he takes the kids

well, its getting cold outside again...****in reached down to the 40s the other day. almost can't wait for the snowy stuff............................almost i don't have a twitter account nor have i ever been to a twitter web page (update: i have), but if i ever did decide to take the plunge i will let you know by posting it in this awesome little box of text (update: not really)! i like tacos lol...though between crunchy tacos and soft tacos i cannot really say which one is better. sometimes, the mess a crunchy taco leaves behind is a little annoying while the soft taco just doesn't have the same taste... cake is so much better than pie no, srsly. **** pie. ****ing

So, you were attempting to get your hubby to go to church less, but settled on 2-3 times a week instead...

Sista got playeddd.

I got invited to a baptist church. whenever I ween away from the church I belong to, I just don't think it is right. but on the other hand it might be ok. most people that invite me to things like that aren't overdoing religion and stuff like that. but I dunno church just isn't that exciting of a place. and some churches are very plain inside not sure what religions those are, but that's probably a good thing since I don't want to get into a debate here.

just be wary of it if it makes you uncomfortable. if it seems like a good thing and feels right, then go for it.

Mrs. Stang: Sorry you are upset about hubby attending church. Once a week seems fine, but hey, why not go on Wednesdays? Not to belittle your situation but there are worse habits guys will get into.

Far as the child, I'd make him do what you want until he's 18. Mom & Dad's job to teach the children well, then they get to make choices when they are old enough. I'm Roman Catholic and was Baptised as an infant. Did the whole teenage rebellion thing, but let me tell you, it's very comforting to get down on my knees and pray at church during a funeral or when someone I know is sick with the cancer.

When you get to the pearly gates and Jesus asks you one question "did you teach your children about me?" it's gonna be good to say YES!

2-3x a week at church sounds fine to me.. when I used to go it wouldn't be more than 2x a week though.. I don't know why people want to go so often.. i never got that much out of going.. there are other things id rather do.. like troll MFOT. <3

More people would go to church if they had free beer. Except fights would break out about god being a man or woman all the time. Bibles and communion wafers flying everywhere.

MG, I understand what you're getting at... but I don't pray, and if I was to pray I'm not sure it would be to God. Now that doesn't mean I'm an atheist because I think it goes back to the fact of how we all got here. I just don't know if I can believe Earth was created in a day by some guy and I also don't know If I can believe it was created by specks of dust. Guess I'll never know till I die, huh? But I also know that church talks a lot about forgiveness and that God forgives everyone, maybe if he's real he'll forgive me once I "get to the pearly gates". I'm sure he knows I mean well when it comes to my kids, and there's nothing in the world that is more important to me than my family. And for my hubz going to church, when it comes down to it... religion can become a big problem in a marriage when both parties don't agree with eachother's beliefes. I just want him to simply understand where I'm coming from so we can meet in the middle when it comes to our kids.

Besides, if it just so happens to be in the wrong religion and you've been doing it for ever, then you die and go to hell for accidentally praying to the devil the whole time. The devil is a tricky sum nuh bish. I'm looking in your direction, Christians.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that Jews are the only ones that are getting in to hebinz. They just don't tell you about it much because they don't want too many getting in so they don't have to share too much.

.....cuz they're Jewish.

Well time is relative, a day to Him could be a millennia to us, but I feel nothing when I pray for it feels like I'm giving up responsibility and just asking for a miracle, I'm just not a fan of handouts, and if anything I could sort of get behind the Watchmaker analogy.

First time I prayed is when my friend's 18month son had a tumor the size of an orange attached to his stomach. He's 6 years old now.

I like happy endings. Just saying.

and this is why the Bible says not to get involved with someone unless they are equally Yoked...

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”

Well I've been on the flip side of that, that's when I lost it.

There is ample explanation in the old testament/genesis that shows they are literal 24 hour days.

Says the lord? Let me hear/see where "the all loving lord" says this. Sounds more like brainwashing of a cult.

"then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty"

Seriously? The lord almighty said that? Only after I "separate" myself from normal society so I have no one else except other brainwashed retards, then I'm ready to be a sheep? Just mindlessly believing in fiction? Awesome!

I'd rather be a Trekkie. At least they get cool costumes.
