I was under the impression that vct was working at all times... not just at a certain rpm

The idea is that during lower RPM ranges, the cam timing is retarded to allow for more low end torque, but then at upper RPMs, the Cams are advanced allowing for higher power.

So technically, it's not something that "engages", I guess his question is more of "can you feel the affects of advanced cam timing in power performance"

so far it looks like whenever i regale you with tales of my racing i'll say he started pulling away then VCT kicked in and i had him by 3 cars by the end.

yeah it's always on, but at low RPMS the car feels pretty weak, kind of like those hondas, high rpm power. after the intake+tune though it feels better though.

VCT doesn't Kick in so to speak. It simply opens the timing curve further at the higher RPM range.

Around 3500 RPM if I keep my foot modertaly on the gas pedal I can feel the car pull harder and put me into my seat.

i can feel VTAKKK in my friends 05 si, but its not the "throw you back in your seat and break your neck" type feeling that hondafags act like it is.

I'm gonna find out if its possible for a human to put vtec up their butt to assist with constipation and to help increase the stopping power of rapid ****s...
