Agreed, I've watched a few episodes of Top Gear U.S., not nearly as enjoyable as Top Gear U.K. Maybe it has to do with the fact that UK has them all over the world? Don't know if U.S. does that, but they should. Might make the show more interesting.

I liked Tannner when he was in battle of the Super Cars with Paul Tracy only for the Comparo's. The smack talk was totally scripted IMO and detracted from the show overall. Probably why it didn't last long. Top Gear US seems to have similar scripting issues.

It made me want to do a similar race here vs Amtrak. I was thinking NY to Detroit, but it looks like I'd be able to stop in Pittsburgh to watch a hockey game and be in Detroit for a few hours before the train comes in...

But damn the French and their contraflows

Yep, that episode is what Top Gear is all about, and why I like it, and why the US version just doesn't cut it. I think the UK guys must have a lot bigger budget compared to the US show. As usual the past three US shows were pretty much the same, they basically took 3 old cars and destroyed them. The only decent US segment so far this year was the Mercedes G wagon being chased down by the US military.

The budget on the UK version is huge, it's also one of the most popular shows on the planet though

What's amazing is that the bulk of the budget is from worldwide sales, it doesn't actually depend on the £114/year for each UK household license fee!

And they use that budget for their amazing soundtrack.

The budget for the BBC version is I'm sure ungodly huge. They're a government organization. The Man has an unlimited budget.

Oh, and ***** the UK Top Gear crew. Sanctimonious ******.

U.S.A. #1.

U.S.A may be #1 but it sucks at Top Gear. They should have named the U.S. version "Men Who Destroy Old Cars" because that's about the extent of their creativity. Hell the Korean version even looks better than ours. They don't destroy cars they crash helicopters.

whys this season so short? only 7 episodes, and 2 of them are special (s)

and yeah, US one kinda sucks this season... all challenges, no real tests, no track, no stig, no big star in a small car

random thought- Trade Wood for Hammond in an episode.

BBC has been weird this past year with their shows/seasons.

Top Gear took a hiatus for what, 18 months? Doctor Who took a year off, Sherlock Holmes was 2 season (4 episodes per season, or was it 3?).

Anyways, Sorry FastbackFord351 US Top Gear pales in comparison to the UK (Original Version).

Now, law and order U.S. is waaaayyy better than the UK version. Uk Version is like "wut da fuc"?! (It sucks).

I agree, Adams review of the GT40 was top notch (like the real Top Gear does) but then comparing a fake version of said car to a Ferrari? Would have been better if they raced the new Ford GT and the Ferrari, but this was their best episode this year.
