Both top tier animals. Good thing they don't live in the same place. There would be battles everyday.
I am thinking the gorilla. The gorilla is smarter, has opposable thumbs, is more agile, but also can quickly run upon its knuckles. And can kick and bite fearsomely. It may be a fatal fight though.

And here is nowadays me. Little older, little wiser and I still suck.
I say bear hands down... gorilla wouldn't stand a chance.
1. Bear outweighs gorilla. (Bear: 400-790 lbs. vs. Gorilla: 310-440 lbs.)
2. Bear has more reach. (Bear: 6' 6" tall vs. Gorilla: 5' 5" - 5' 9" tall)
3. Bear has bigger/wider opening mouth with sharper teeth and probably more biting strength.
4. Bear has sharp claws, gorilla has fingernails.
The only thing the gorilla has going for it is agility.
Sorry, but a full grown Grizzly would be swatting a full grown gorilla around like a rag doll.
What Capri said are all good points, except for the fact that a Gorilla is of a higher order of intelligence and is definitely as strong as the bear if not stronger. The bear would just blindly attack while the Gorilla would reason out it's advances.
