Well it took Chevy 21 years to make a v6 Camaro that made more power than a 1989 Ford Taurus SHO. Which is more pathetic when you think about it.

so we're comparing specialty engines to corporate engines now??? alrighty.

3.0L Yamahammer v6 - 220bhp/200 btq.

3.8L corporate GM v6 - 200bhp/220btq.

i'd say that the 3800 Series II did fairly well for a low compression OHV v6 with a retardedly mild cam compared to a high compression 4v DOHC rocket engine.

Hey, its not my fault that the performance sports car Camaro made less power than a frumpy boring 4 door family sedan. :i con_shrug::ico n_shrug::icon_ shrug:

Are you f@#king retarded? You are comparing Taurus's top model to a base model V6 Camaro? No one is buying a V6 Camaro to brag about the performance, they made a compromise of speed for fuel mileage and price while keeping the muscle car styling.

And since we are on a mustang forum, do you REALLY want to talk about base model performance? Really...? Go look at the Mustang's 3.8 V6 vs the Camaro's 3800 and let me know...

You have a point about the v6 mustang sucking more than the camaro. At least the 2010 v6 camaro makes more power than the 1989 Taurus, something the 2010 v6 mustang didn't do.

I'm guessing ford doesn't give a sh*t about the performance of their v6 as long as people are buying them instead of v6 camaros.

This is true with the V6s and GTs. I don't think most Ford executives were bothered that the LS1 Camaro was over a second faster than their new edge GT because it was killing the Camaro in sales. The Mustang was more watered down and made to appeal to a wider group of people. Not saying that it was a bad car, so don't think I'm flaming the mustang. The LS1 was just built with performance in mind more than sales while the mustang wasn't. Perhaps that's why the F-body died in 2002.

A good many people do, if it wasnt for the 6's you wouldnt have your V8s.

The biggest thing is sales, performance is second to sales and price.

Just the facts as of right now, the SS is considered more of a specialty car like the SVT but if you wanna get technical now the GT can easily run with the new Camaro.

If it wasnt fun to talk trash and race them, we wouldnt have them. Its always a thrill to beat the fast guy around

all mustangs are faster than all camaros. thats the important thing to remember.

also, the 2011 v6 mustang is pretty close to the 1998 v8 camaro in performance, they both run high 12s/low 13s stock and the v6 has better interior/styling/comfort.
