It's funny you mention this. The older I get (I am 31 now) the more I realize that we really do only live once. Also, our life on this planet is but a mere blip on the scope of things. Might as well enjoy things while I can! And yes, being single helps!

I sell new Caddys and Chevys. We have a C7 Z51 3LT and even coming from me, a non Vette fan, that car amazes me every time I drive it. Though the leg room is a bit less than the C6, I love this car. Good choice Slappy, love the yellow and black.
Thanks for the compliments. I agree with you as well. I am not stretched beyond my means and I live comfortably. I guess being on a Mustang forum implies that to some people.

You got a deal. I will put you in my will. However, chances are that if I do die young, in will likely be in my Stingray. The totaled wreckage is yours .

Sweet ride, I love the new Stingray.
I am actually a Pontiac guy. My first care was a '99 Grand AM GT. I then moved up to a 2000 V6 Firebird. After selling the Firebird, I picked up a 2001 10th Anniversary Firehawk which I sold, partly to help me get a big down payment on the Corvette. In 2005, I picked up a new 2005 GTO. I loved that car but parts were impossible to find by the time I traded it in for my 2013 Mustang GT .

Haha. Believe it or not, my first order was for a Cyber Grey Stingray. After seeing pictures of a yellow one with the black accents I promptly changed it . Yeah, the car is very visible, but I have had nothing but kind people give me the thumbs up as they take pictures or record me .

I do not understand how people like that color. It is the only color I do not like on the C7. Although it is the lowest selling color, it's doing better than I though it would. However, I respect that everybody has different tastes .

I'd rock that lime as well. That green with a light brown interior would be classy.
Not everybody needs OSHA safety yellow (though chicks and bees often dig it).

But you didnt pick green... did you.. focker

I think that Yellow would be my number two pick after blue.

If Orange was available, it'd be the new number two.

Sharp car. I'm yet to see one in person.

I saw one a few weeks ago in black. Very few cars stop me in my tracks. That one did.

I'm not really feeling it for the new Vette. The tail light droopy thing just strikes me as weird and the front headlight covers are huge! But, I must admit, I've only seen pictures and I may have a different opinion in person.

lol...I was thinking the same thing but, opposite when I seen that bright yellow.

dudes with yellow cars usually are into what type of wax and air freshener they should buy and dudes with green cars are usually into heads, cam and gears to go faster! lol...kiddin.

Now, all you need to do is install this tune and you gotz a GTR killer, the vette will out handle and beat it in a straight line while saving a ton of money!

I do like the c7. I don't think they will be good for modders but I guess we'll see.

Owning a home is a bit of a retirement cushion. You aren't affected by raising housing costs nearly as much, sure you still want to keep paying your insurance, but once you have a house paid off you only have upkeep costs, and if you stay on top of things those will be minimal. Having no house payment, no car payment leaves you with needing very little in terms of monthly expenses.

I got a house far bigger than I need for investment purposes (it's likely already worth about 25,000 more than I paid for it 4 years ago) a fixer-upper. I'm a single guy too and i got a 4 bedroom 2 bath 2 car garage house. I could move into a 2 bedroom 1 bath house that costs 60,000 less once I decide I'm done with this house... Except I kind of like how much space I have for things like my pool table and aquariums

anyway, point is, housing can be an excellent investment for financial security. When I sold medicare insurance all of the poor people who had no money lived in apartments or rented houses. The ones who couldn't afford anything but their rent because they couldn't work anymore. (there was a warm-up I'd do where I'd talk to them about things, including if they owned the house they were in, usually lead into a long story about how they got there). I don't want to end up in a situation where all of my social security is going towards rent. And 30 year term loan means I'll be ready for retirement about when it's paid off.

Anyway... just some advice to consider... I'm sure if you are a multi-millionaire there is no reason to ever buy a house as you'll be able to afford rent forever if you have it properly invested.

Ha, if only I were a millionaire! I understand how a house can be viewed as an asset and build equity and possibly give some cushion during retirement (as long as it's paid off). However, I don't want to be tied down to once place for too long. I want to be able to get up and leave on a moment's notice if I have to. I am not very handy and the upkeep on a house is can be an undertaking, even for very handy people. I don't need much space nor do I want it. My apartment is plenty big (2 bd, 2 bth). It is also pretty much a resort with a pool, indoor basketball court, pool tables, business center, tennis courts, dog run...etc. That is all included in my rent which is very affordable. My point is if somebody can afford to rent and own a nice car without living paycheck to paycheck then that's fine. It's a personal choice. I know many would prefer a house and I am fine with that .

Yep, to each their own. As long as you're not P2P and are planning for your future, it doesn't make much difference how you spend your money.

I saw a vert the other day. Didn't much care for it. Very few cars look good as verts. I generally prefer coupes myself.

I like the front and sides of the new vette but those damn taillights look like a Camaro..bleh. Oh well, guess I should get used to them since that's just about all I'll see of them on the streets!
