Yeah, I know what you mean. I would only get a puppy to minimize any potential issues. The last thing I need is a dog freaking out and biting the neighborhood kids. I admire the people that are willing to deal with the really nutty dogs, but I'm not willing.
National dog day, huh? We're gonna find a rescue dog soon but not quite yet.
Glad to hear you will be rescuing. I saved my girl 7 years ago, and at that time I never knew she would be such an amazing animal. It was scaring bring a 1 year old pit into my house, especially when they told me there seemed to be signs of abuse in her past. Reality, all she need was a loving home and someone to care for her. She has never caused one issue. She is my daughter's best friend, and I feel safer leaving her at home knowing that my dog would take her own life to save my baby. We have the best of both worlds, family pet, but also a guard dog.
