Default Should I buy my dad's 87 Porsche 944?

So my dad has had this thing basically my whole life and the car is as old as I am. He has been working on it recently and just doesn't want to anymore. So after he gets some insurance work on it done, he is dumping it. Mechanically it's great. Only 70k miles on it, non-turbo, 5MT, never driven in the winter. Needs a new muffler, some minor body damage but no rust, and the rubber everything is starting to go. It would be a mild restoration and just a cheap little couple to drive to work. Was looking for a project car, and this keeps me practical since there's really nothing to modify drivetrain wise.

I'll probably keep the mustang for a few more years. It's been paid off and costs me nothing but gas. Only has 40k miles after 4+ years

Well, I don't know.

Will your Porsche make you better than the rest of us?

I'm not morbid . But yes it would make me a little better, but the v6 mustang brings me back down so we're good.

While I think there are wheels that would look better, those wheels are awesome. Phone dials!

I'm sure there are a few exceptions to this rule, but a porsche 944 is not one of them. No car from 1987 should be purchased by anyone at anytime in the year 2014.

do eettt, tho I'd first research how much the rubber parts cost to replace and if they are even available

if they are, then do it, and rock a linen suit pastel colored V neck and some slip on shoes

or fix it up, flip it and buy a grand national.

The sponsors informed me that we're not going to use the bit that he could buy two half your age for the same price. So we're going to take the high road on this one.

They also told me not to mention that I could probably afford just the tip but not the hole check.

I assume they mentioned that because this is a family friendly website.

Do it....it's NOT a 911 but, it's a zippy gas sipper and it basically has a VW engine it....just make sure you change the timing belt if, it hasn't been done, easy to do, plenty of demonstration vids on youtube.

and put these rims on it!
