Default Help a brother help his family out :)

What's up guys? I'm in need of a little bit of help. If you guys don't mind spreading the word around I'd greatly appreciate it. I know there are a few people on this forum that will give me flack for this type of thread but I also know that there's a **** ton of really good people here as well.

I've started a GoFundMe account to try and purchase some land so that I can move all of my family into 1 state/country. The link to my page can be found here: Link removed by admin
Basically what I have in mind is to purchase 10 acres that I've found in Washington. It has woods, a river, highway access and it's about an hour and a half from where I am now. I'd like to build an off grid compound for all of the members of my family to have somewhere to live together. We have never had the chance to live near each other and this is something that I'd really like to change.

My page has the details of the property and my plans for it, but there are some things that I left out. Without getting too whiny....I really need to try and make this happen for a few different reasons. First off, I haven't seen my mother in years and her health is deteriorating fast. She's a lifelong alcoholic and she's had an extremely tough life. I would hate it if I didn't at least try whatever I could to get her into my life again and have her die before I can even say goodbye.

Secondly, my 16 year old niece is living in Michoacan, MX. and I just found out she is pregnant. She was taken from her mother by her father years ago and moved off to Mexico and it's eaten me up for years that I did nothing to keep her here. I would love to try and redeem that by giving her a place to raise her child that is safe. I know how badly she wants to have her child in the US so that she has a better chance at a bright future.

Like I said, I'm trying to move my family and it's going to be a tough task for me, and unfortunately my family hasn't put themselves in a very good place financially to help me out. They have made some bad decisions in life and they readily admit it, but I am happy to say that they have all surprised me by turning things around for themselves the last couple years. Thanks a lot guys for listening..er..reading!

well, its getting cold outside again...****in reached down to the 40s the other day. almost can't wait for the snowy stuff............................almost i don't have a twitter account nor have i ever been to a twitter web page (update: i have), but if i ever did decide to take the plunge i will let you know by posting it in this awesome little box of text (update: not really)! i like tacos lol...though between crunchy tacos and soft tacos i cannot really say which one is better. sometimes, the mess a crunchy taco leaves behind is a little annoying while the soft taco just doesn't have the same taste... cake is so much better than pie no, srsly. **** pie. ****ing

I took the link out of your post. Leave it off. You are soliciting for personal gain, even though I believe your heart is in the right place. But any way you slice it, you are soliciting. Also, jump start type fundraising is meant to give the donors something in return for their donation. I don't think a warm fuzzy feeling is adequate return in investment. A fool and his money are soon parted.
