I think the $350 is coming from the extra barrel that I'm getting. Thanks for the info everybody. I appreciate it.

It's not uncommon for shotguns to come with more than 1

we bought the pardner for my dad for christmas, its a good gun, good for basic home defense. its got some heft to it. idk if it is, but it feels heavier than the 500 I bought for work. after taxes it was just under 200 from gander mt. (walmart in my town doesnt sell guns)

also, OP, for 350 I'd tell him no thanks, sure its got the long barrel for hunting, but I got my entire 18 inch barrel mossberg 500 tactical for 30 bucks more a few years ago.

id offer him 200, sell the hunting barrel, then change out the furniture get the tube extension, unless its got one.....

then post pics of your girlfriend.. just the way things are done around these parts

Imo the 870 is way lighter. Between me and an my dad I've shot many 500s and he has a 870 my grandma bought him for Xmas years back and it's a Damn featherweight, great for climbing in and out of your tree stand but you pay for it in recoil

that is true Explosive, all our agency 870s are like 20 years old and they are a bit of an effort to rack the pump. but they pack a punch.

but its been a while since I shot one, since I just use my 500 at qualifications and the recoil on Ol' Bessie isnt too bad at all.
