Default Car Shows

Could someone tell me what they think and answer this question for me please. I put my 2009 GT mustang in a lot of car shows and I have done a lot of work on it to make it look like a custom show mustang. I have a set of $5000.00 rims on it the motor is dressed and even the inside is custom. But always I see mustangs in a car show with nothing done, I mean the car looks the same way that they brought it. The only thing that they did was put gas in it. There car is not custom. And they win .. I do not understand this.. I mean just a plane GT or Roush or even a Shelby with NO work done just the way that they brought it. Has anyone else seen this too.

Depends on the show that you go to, I know some shows can be completely voted on by the people go to the show, other car shows determine who win by the people who run the show.

Just throwing money at a car doesn't mean that you're guaranteed a win, it has to be modified with a theme, not just throwing random parts at it (not saying that's the case here, obviously I have no idea what your car looks like).

Try to enter shows that have class levels, like a stock class, a modified class, and an extreme modified class, that way you can be judged with people in your own class so that it's more of a competition

Those 22" wheels are killing you! That's a big turn off for most Mustang enthusiasts.

This summer I have put my car in 11 car shows it has won first place 7 times second place 2 times and lost out 2 times. The wheels are what set the car off 22 inch rims on a mustang look great and fit perfect. But thanks from now on I will pick my shows better.

Yeah, you never know, peoples choice shows usually go to the well modded cars, MCA shows usually go to the cleanest cars, and then other judged shows go to cronies. If you're in the modified class, then a lot judge you on the quality of the mods as well as how modified it is, so if you've just thrown a bunch of dress-up parts in the engine compartment and done nothing to the engine itself, then you're already at a disadvantage to the guys who have a supercharger or turbo or nitrous system installed. But at the end of the day, it's not about taking home a $5 plastic trophy, it's about you knowing based on your own comparison to other cars there and what other show attendees have said to you that matters. Plus it's usually a great place to see what others are doing that you might want to do.

Wait, you're complaining about shows when you've won 7 out of 11?! And then came in 2nd in 2 more? You're not going to win every show. What's the problem here?

IDK, maybe the fake 5.0 badges, the 'urban' style rims, the rice looking headlight splitters.... Just a thought.
