hell my 1992 Ford F-150 has only had a few problems for 130,000.

1. I had to replace both the window motors
2. The manifold went our but besides some small stuff that is all that has gone wrong.

GM gave me a mid-13 second, 300+ hp car in the low $20k range. Sure, I have to deal with electrical demons, warped rotors (notorious on F-bodies) and the occaisional weird mechanical/exhaust problem (cat burned out after 30k miles?), but hey, I can deal with it.

teh GM one is GM screwing up cause that is still under warranty. GM loses $$.
teh ford on is ford being smart cause they have a 99 that needs some work. ford makes $$.

if you believe that, gullible is written on the ceiling.

I had a buddy with a ford aerostar that was absolutely beat down to hell, it had over 300,000 miles and the drivetrain was still kicking. one time, I ripped the sliding door off of it while trying to get in. awesome car.

my dad had a brand new grand am in 99, blew the tranny at 9000 km and a pushrod shot through the block at 27000 km... had alot more problems with it but those were the worst. he said he'd never buy another pontiac again, so he got a buick rendez-vous (my father wasn't a big car expert, he had no idea it was basicaly the same company) he had so many problems with it a can't even remember them all, the whole fronst suspension had to be redone (and he definetly didn't offraod in it). elecrtical problems were a plenty, had to remove a fuse for the radio to stop when he turned off the car, CEL always on for weeks after an oil change ...yadda yadda yadda ...meanwhile my mom had been driving a taurus, and i was driving my focus and we never had one with either... i used to bust his chops about buying it all the time. if something went wrong with his cars i'd say well you bought a GM what'd you expect ?
