Default Why so much!?!?!?!

So I'm currently in the search for a GT from 94-2004, and I need to share this with someone LOL! WHY DO PEOPLE ASK SO MUCH FOR GT'S!?!?! I did a standard search on KBB and for a 2001 GT w/ 130k in Excellent condition, they go for about 4-5k. But on craigslist... no.. no.. no.. You see on craigslist normal mustang GT's are "limited production" or "will be worth something one day" and fetching prices upwards of 8k for a high mileage one! This is almost as crazy as my brother in law saying his beat up 99 Grand am GT will be a collector's car one day . Sorry if some on this sounds ignorant I just needed to speak my mind lol.

When it comes to Mustangs disregard the KBB figures. I can't really put a finger on it other than its because of their popularity.

Jake,
I have seen 94-99 Cobras going pretty cheap. How much are you looking to spend?

www.cars.com Look there. Just filter thru what you want.

What an enthusiast would pay for a particular car is different from what the average Joe would pay for said car. For example, modifications usually are seen as NOT being desirable on the general market, where they may be more desirable to someone like us. It's quite possible that KBB isn't taking into account rare sub-models, low VINs, etc. It's also quite possible that a lot of folks think that what they have is worth more than it really is. But hey, if you can get someone to pay it....

I think I'm right around 5-6k with my tax return The problem is I don't really want a rust bucket with super high miles. About 130k and under is what I'm looking for.
