you know that royal purple doesnt refine their own oil.. right?

and there are better synthetics than Mobil1

you guys should start looking at the actual specs on the oil, instead of just going by what the toolbag at your local parking lot uses!

Well many people, including myself, don't know what to look for when purchasing oil. The specs on the back might as well be written in Chinese. Why not start a thread outlining all the things that make a good oil?

I have used castrol synthetic blend for years with all my vehicles with no problem (though i have never heard of anyone blowing up an engine from using any other oil). I use WIX filters, ask your local parts place if they have filter cutouts, you will see why I use WIX. I use royal purple for tranny and rear end, seems to work well.

I have heard a lot of LS1 guys saying some really good things about GERMAN Castrol synthetic, I read something about it a couple years ago and it has some really good additives that no other oils have, but I dont remember what the additives were. But its only in the Castrol synthetic made in Germany (it says made in Germany on the back)

FRAM makes special filter for synthetic oil?

I use Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic along with a Valvoline filter mostly because I get it free however, it is damn good oil. I have 96,300 ABUSIVE miles on my GT, and it doesn't burn any oil, and has no leaks.
