Default Recycling Oil? Mix Motor Oil with Trans Fluid/Diff Fluid?

For those of you who recycle your old/used motor oil, have you also mixed in old trans fluid and differential fluid? I talked to a buddy, and he has done it before and he also states that pretty much anything (car related at least) with OIL will usually be accepted by places that recycle old oil...so long as there's no gasoline in it.

Also, anyone know how the old oil is recycled?

in the army, we mix all types and weights of oils. 15/40, 30 wt, 10 wt, 80/90, 85/140. the contractors we turn our old oil into tell us as long as our oils, coolants, and fuels (by type) are separate, it doesnt matter. dont know how all this translates to the civilian world though. hopefully i helped you some
