Well, I sent my engine oil to Blackstone Labs for examination and to see if going 7500 miles on full synthetic had any negative impacts on my engine. It's probably useful to give you an idea of exactly how my car was used during this oil's tenure in my car, but if you want to skip to the meat jump to the second paragraph. About 50-60% of the mileage was highway cruising, no racing & very rarely do I really open up the throttle. Also, virtually every time the car was out it hit operating temperature.
In any event, they found the iron and copper to be notably high, but the TBN read at 3.3, so yeah, according to them the oil could have gone a little longer. So this convoluted answer makes me think I need to do another oil analysis at the 5000 mark to see if that indeed brings down my engine wear. I've compared the results to some of the other analysis posted on this site and mine seems to be the only one that has shown excessive copper and iron. That being said, I'd be interested to see what you guys think. See attached for the full results.
*UPDATE* I called Blackstone and spoke with one of the engineers about my oil analysis. According to him, these results aren't potentially out of line for where I am. He said that a lot of the time the iron deposits accrue in a linear fashion, so because my oil was in there longer it might naturally be higher, but there might also be more severe wear towards the end. So I guess I'm going to do another change around 5000 miles and do another analysis to see if those results would fall along the same lines.

Thats really cool, thanks for the update. How long before you got your results backs.

I've seen many higher copper/iron readings in the 4.6's with <30k miles on BITOG and on other forums etc. They seem to drop somewhat after that. Could it still be breaking in with the super tight tolerances these engine are built with???

Here's what I would do:
1. Get a magnetic drain plug.
2. Do another analysis at your next interval
3. Keep an eye on molybdenum, iron & silicon
You're right about "creating a trend" with oil analysis. You'll be able to tell if you really have a concern or not.
Your TBN is awful low. Anything below 7 is acidic. You need some acid to keep comtams in suspension (like >5.5) but damn, that's very acidic! I'd get that stuff out of there! Your engine creates acid, it is up to your oil to neutralize these acids with alkali. (Think of Ph #)

they take 4-5 days to get me results
not sure what blackstone charges ,Oil Analyzers charges $27.85 and that includes the ups ground shipping.
its me $22.55 for preferred Amsoil Customers
I just sent a sample in from our racecar, I will post it up here
