How many quarts of engine oil is needed for an oil change including replacement of oil filter for a 2000 Ford Mustang gt?

6? I've been putting 5 in mine for over two years. I checke dmy owner's manual and it calls for 5 quarts. It reads full on the dipstick. I have read that sprial dipsticks are often wrong, any truth to this??
Am I not "using my dipstick"?

Should I listen to my owner's manual and dipstick and continue to put in 5 or put in 6?

Put in 5. Run it for a bit, then shut off and let sit for about 5 minutes. Read stick again. Add as needed until oil is righ in middle between Full and Add lines.

I would trust the stick over manual or Google.

Believe it or not that happens more than you think. I just had my oil changed and they put in 5 quarts. Just like they were supposed too. Pull up the dipstick and nothing was reading on it. Not even to the ADD line.

Found out I didn't even have the right dipstick. Call the dealership and they can tell you the part number for your dipstick and then just check the part number on your current dipstick. If they match then you are good.

$30 for the right dipstick took all my worries away.

I ordered the same borla exhaust too, and love the way it sounds it also looks very nice. I have people asking me all the time what kind of exhaust it is because it sounds so good. I got mine from borla parts here, borla 11761 and was pleased with the price a delivery time. You should also check craigslist sometimes you can find a used set.
