Motor oil does not increase HP. It is just an advertisement for the most part. If it does, it's 1-2 MAX.

Royal purple does leave a film, even though it is synthetic. Synthetic also cleans the non synthetic oils out. You'd be surprised at how synthetic can out perform non synthetic oils.
