Default Do I need to change the oil again?

So I changed my oil last november and parked the car. Hasn't moved or ran since. Can I just take it out of storage and drive it like that or do I or should really change the oil again?

I would, oil sitting with out the ability to cook and burn off deposits, condensation, etc. isnt the best thing for your engine.....or you can look at it this way, depending on the oil (regular or synthetic), whcih gives you the best peace of mind? 30.00 to 40.00ish dollars of oil and filter, or the cost of rebuilding your motor? just my .2 cents...lol

I figured as much. Sucks...such a waste. Being that the oil has all of 3 miles on it. Oh well, I guess.

I wouldn't change it at 3 miles. Just get out and drive the car to burn off any moisture in the oil.

Follow the advice of both people who I quoted, they are both correct. Your oil still has plenty of active additive left and would be a waste to drain it.

Take if for a good 30 minute drive, get the oil up to full temp, and all of the contaminates from storage will be gone.

Damn. Oh well, I changed it yesterday. Cost me $40 for filter and mobil1 5-30 full synthetic. I took it for a 6 mile drive and let it idle for 10 minutes to get it warmed up to drain. Like I said, just sucks cause it's ultimately a waste of oil and $ to put new it, store it and then bring it out and do it again. :P

If you change your oil at the time of winter storage, there is no need to change it in the spring when you drive it again. Just wait until you store the car in the winter to change it, and make that your one year interval.
