never heard of liqui moly, i would use what ford/roush recommends. but realistically any approved motor oil of the correct weight will do

Liqui Moly is a German company who makes oils and other lubricants. FWIW neither Liqui Moly nor Mobil 1 claim to meet the relevant Ford WSS standard, but so long as they are certified to the correct API level either should be fine.

I'm a firm believer in Mobil 1 also, keeps the engine very clean.

Judging by oil analysis reports, M1 really isn't all its cracked up to be. Spend some time on bobistheoilguy.com if you want some proof. Liqui Moly is amongst the highest quality oil money can buy, meets all the standards of BMW, Mercedes, and VW which I guarantee are more rigorous than Ford. The factory 5w50 Motorcraft has been shown to shear down to basically a 30wt very quickly so I definitely wouldn't use that overpriced garbage. I'm a huge fan of the Liqui Moly and have used it in pretty much all my cars for about the last 10 years with great results (not one car I've used it in has ever burned or lost any noticeable oil).

zombie thread alert. getting 300k out of an engine that runs motorcraft it entire life pretty much shoots down your liqui moly sales pitch. run what you want, but motorcraft has been proven to be great oil.

You're right and I probably should have clarified what I meant by that (and also should have checked the dates lol). Motorcraft in general is very good, no doubt. I was speaking specifically to the (very expensive and hard to find) 5w-50 MC that comes recommended for the Boss and Track /Brembo pack cars. I'm assuming that's the same as what the OP was referencing. There's been extensive testing done on that stuff which shows its just not worth what you pay for it. Also highly depends on how you drive it so yes, it's all subjective at the end of the day.
