im in North Carollina right now going to Nascar Tech. I've talked to my education mannager, well one of them. and he's supposed to give me a list tomarrow of driving/racing schools.
I'll update this post when i get the list. most likely it'll be in NC and surrounding states.

It was hinted at, but make sure that the school you choose is one that will issue your provision license at the end of the school. Also, decide which sancioning body you want to start with & find out what is involved in getting a race license. That way as you look at your school choices, you'll know what you need to work on.

The difference between Skip Barber and Bondurant is open wheel vs. closed wheel for the most part. Every school teaches a little different, of course, but if you are saying you want to start in SCCA, which usually means closed wheel, Bondurant is more focused on that. Racing courses at Bondurant are held in Corvettes.
Also, like someone mentioned, karts are a great place to start! They are inexpensive to get started in and the talent pool is huge when you get to the higher ranks. The majority of all the top drivers in any series today either started in karts or have experience in karts.
