Felt bad for Mark Martin, but even worse for Roush Racing afterwards, only the Rookie #6 Daivd Ragan came out with a top 5 finish. I think the race would have been more excited without the last minute crashes........

Now I'm with you in that one, had it been any one else to win Martin was most deserved

I think my Mustang can keep pace in Daytona for the first 15 laps. Of course, I would need to change the tires and the rear end gears to the tallest I can find. I think I can keep up, might even pass a car or two.

oh i bet...

you do understand that a NASCAR stock car makes quite a bit more power than you, and probably weighs less, right?

How much power can they make with all the restrictions placed on them?

I weighted my Mustang on the salvage yard metal scale. With me in it, 3423lbs.

NASCAR cars are louder than my Mustang. But I think my exhaust sounds just as good at full song.

With taller gears and proper tires,I think I can keep up in last or a car or two better for the first 15 laps. You don't think I'd have any chance whatsoever? I've been in many Bull Runs and prevailed.

Better yet, how about if YOU were driving my Mustang. Any chance at passing a single car? There is a built Tremec 3650 in my Mustang. Race proven.

i dont think there would be a chance if dale earnhardt jr was driving your car...im not bagging on you for a change, or your car....although your exhaust comment begs for me to make a joke...perhaps your car will win because its "prettier"?

i dont point out your errors to make my car seem faster...i point out things because i find a great deal of what you say amusing. your car would probably beat mine..i mean, it sure as hell SHOULD beat mine...you have almost 200more whp than i do.

seriously though, i believe that they are somewhere in the 700-800hp range, and they have a minimum weight requirement of 3400lbs...now, im not certain if that 750hp is the fastest car, or the slowest car, but it gives you an idea...youre making what, about 650 at the crank? so youre spotting at least 100hp...not to mention that they spend millions of dollars in R&D to ensure that the chassis, body, and suspension are as efficient as possible. perhaps if you were to put their engine in a car identical to yours, and raced them, you might be able to keep up, but there is just WAY too much technology in the car itself. i would bet that even your engine, in a nascar body, would hand your car a sound beating...just because of the quality of chassis, body, and suspension.

You are right. We all fantasize. I know this may sound strange, but I am really into NASCAR. I think the cars are absolutely amazing machines. The exhaust notescarry the sound of perfection. No car I ever heard in person sounds better. How I would love to drive one of those carsaround an empty track for15 laps at full song!

My Mustang would give out pushing it that hard for that long at 6700 rpm. The aftermarket parts I put on it -- even though the best I can find for it -- pale in comparison to the parts of a NASCAR stock car. And those cars encounter problems all the time....

Thanks for putting up with me on this ludicrist notion.
