Hey guys i am starting to get into road racing and plan to take my car to the track soon. I have the mods in my sig. I am getting my suspension and brakes done within the next few weeks but i have a question. What kind of spark plugs(i can get a 30% discount right now on them) What kind of fluids and for which parts(royal purple, motul) What about helmets?

thanks Jason

Spark plugs - not sure
Fluids - I run Motul
Helmet - get a full face that fits comfortably.I use G-Force, Arai and Simpson but there are other good brands too

For anything above auto-X, make sure that your helmet is 'SA' rated, even if the organization that you're running with does not require it.

Circle Track magazine had an article (or part of one) about helmets in the latest issue, and there's a sequence of pictures that show what happens when fire and an 'M' rated helmet come together.

I run Motorcraft plugs, AmsOil fluids, and a Bell helmet. I have had the Bell helmet for 2 years and love it. Definitely go with the SA rating.

Motul or Ford HD brake fluid is good. Hawk HP+ or HT-10 pads are very good, just dont drive them on the street, swap them in at the track. SS brake lines are always a good upgrade also.

If you are Auto-Xing any Snell DOT approved helmet would work, as long as it is S2000 or newer I think. I use my bike helmet. If you are road racing, check with the required specs for a helmet so you know what to have.
