Question Redesigning Car for Road Racing

Hello all!

So I've been planning on slowly transforming my car (1999 3.8l mustang) into a full race car over the next few years.

For this summer I'm going to attack basic safety and handling.

So a rollcage is a must, as well as a great suspension setup (namely shocks and springs / coil-over setup.

The question is, what kind of setups do you guys run? Basically:

Product company
Spring rates for coilovers and non coilovers f/r
Types of shocks and their damping capacity for high-rate springs
And whether you prefer coils or just a spring-shock setup.
Are v8 coilovers/shocks compatible with v6s?

Personally I'm going towards spring-shocks, but can't seem to find the ideal damper-spring combo. Super Race series has caught my attention, but I'm not sure if any other damper could hold up without bottoming out.

My knowledge on this topic is pretty limited, so for the time being I just need a very stiff and good balancing setup that would be useful for me for at least another 3 seasons (as to be cost effective). 3 seasons would be roughly anywhere between 40 to 60+ track days including HPDE and Time attack/ point by road racing. That's where most of my budget is going to - so limited income for mods

Anyways, any input from you guys with experience from this would be great! I shall start a thread and reviews once I get this all in (hopefully mid summer)

Thank you!
