i have a 01 GT with a vortech v-2 10 lb supercharger i was wondering if a bypass valve on a supercharger is really worth the 200+ dollars and if so which one would be the best for my set up??

Did'nt your kit come with one?
You should definitly have a bypass valve on your car.
Look around the net,prices vary greatly.You might find it cheaper

yeah, all vortech kits come with a plastic bosch bypass valve. maybe you looking at an upraged model. but regardless, you HAVE to have one.

Yep, you can get away without if you only had 5-5 lbs of boost but remember I said "get away".. and anything over 6lbs you definately need one. It takes off the added stress to the throttle blades when they close plus slightly reduces intake temperature just a tad

you cant get away without one with any amount of boost. it will a. blow the blade off the throttle body. b. blow the pipe off the intake. c. ruin the impellare of the blower.

yeah i have the one that came with the kit but i am looking for an upgraded one i am just having some trouble deciding what one

whats wrong with the stock one? you could always get a blow through maf, and run a blow off valve. nothing beats the sound[sm=trust_me.gif]

what is the diffrence beetween the blow off valve and the bypass valve?? and where would i get the blow through MAF.. i dol ove the BOV sound that would really confuse the people in my town... they are already confused trying to figure out what that funny noise is

a bpv recirculates the air from the intake pipe back to the intake of the supercharger...once the throttle body opens, the bpv closes. a bov works the same way, but instead of recirculating air, it vents it into the atmoshphere. thats the sound you hear. they only work with blow through maf's, the one you have on your vortech now is a draw through.

thats what i thoguht but i was confused cuz with my eclipse you couldnt vent to the atmosphere you had to recirculate it
